USD/CAD approaching parity

Posted: 19 Mar 2010 05:38 AM PDT

Another good data for Cad: Retail sales came out way better than expected, rising 0.7% while the core reading reached 1.8%; pair hit 1.0063, and remains quite close to that level; we have a small gap from previous inflation news, but technically pair has still more room to fall: no oversold signs, and pretty bearish indicators. under mentioned low, expect the pair to reach 1.0000/20 area, and even further 0.9960/70 zone if parity gives up. Corrective movements will find resistances at 1.0105, 1.0140 and 1.0170, where the pair will close the gap.

Some funny stuff to relax

I never like to post something else than forex in this blog; I tend to be extremelly formal, here, as a way to show respect for you, that want to be informed about market. True is I’m anything but formal: life is too short to waste my precious time in doing anything else but enjoying it.   Be sure, I enjoy forex a lot ;) . Anyway, Friday’s is the only day I gave myself the freedom to hear some music while working; I love music too much and kind of distracts me. But overall, I love rock and roll ( I’m ashamed to mention how many Cd’s I have at home,  sometimes takes months to hear something again). I love to find something extremelly old and play it Friday morning; I fell like a kid discovering a buried treasury! This is my song of the day, is making me laugh soo much! Hope you enjoy it!

Starting the day

Posted: 19 Mar 2010 04:19 AM PDT

Hi everyone, and welcome! Friday again, and market quite mixed, and very interesting: no stocks, no commodity is leading the way today, but own strength/weakness of each currency. Swiss Franc has been the overall winner since yesterday’s comments from a new SNB’s member, Danthine talking about a rate hike and no forex intervention: EUR/CHF has reached 1.4315, it’s all time low, as also Euro remains the weakest currency across the board due to reasons we have largely talk about (Yes! Greece!). Canadian dollar is back on the run higher, after higher than expected inflation readings. Pound breached to the downside the 1.5230 technical area, and fell pressured by dollar good tone, while yen is boringly unchanged. i will take a technical outlook to the crosses, and start making some postings ok?

One last report to take care of, Retail sales in Canada; here is the link for today’s calendar:

Have a great day!
