Starting the day

Hi everyone, and welcome back! Despite a quiet start of the week as Australian markets were close on holidays, European morning come with more Euro woes, making the hegemonic currency erase most of past Friday’s gains across the board. German ForMin Westerwelle says Germany has not yet decided on Greece aid, as committing to aid too soon would take pressure off Greece to cut deficit, while Swedish Central Bank Oberg has stated that he sees the risk of more dramatic developments in Europe and that Greece is not the only problem. Indeed, quite negative comments that are reflected nicely in the charts: EUR/USD is attempting to break again under 1.3300, EUR/AUD approaches to 1.4300 area, while EUR/GBP slump back to 0.8600 levels.

A side from Euro, Pound extended it’s rally and approached to 1.55 as expected, while USD/JPY keeps hovering around the 94.00 area, with commodity currencies the strongest across the board. Anyway, no much from the fundamental side today ahead, except for  Trichets’ speech, and comments on Greece woes; here is the link for today’s calendar:

Have a great day!
